ANYONE who knows me well is aware that you could call me a bit of a numpty when he comes to WiFi technology. In truth, I find it mind-boggling.
In truth, also, I reckon I’m not the only person who feels all at sea grappling with the latest technology in telecommunications and very vulnerable to boot as we, the consumers, put our TRUST in those we believe are “in the know“.
Of course, these experts are burdened with a huge weight of responsibility to ensure the general public is kept safe from scammers, swindlers and fraudsters who prey on society online.
If you follow my WordPress blog, Facebook and LinkedIn vlogs, you’ll know that I’ve set myself a mission to help revive local journalism by seeking like-minded people to share trusted news and press releases on social media.
In doing so, I know how seriously my fellow news hounds and PR professionals and Press officers take their roles in disseminating trusted information.
Yesterday, I admit to feeling besieged and weary posting my “Daily Waffle” as I rambled on about my lack of trust in Big Business globally as we, the consumers, are forced to use faceless remote communications.
At the end of my vlog, I mentioned a Power Point presentation I gave to a Women in Business networking group in Surrey about journalism and communications.
During yesterday’s vlog I said I might post my talk – which featured the Pony Express in America’s Wild West and the invention of the Morse Code – in my next WordPress blog post rather than embed a Hollywood blockbuster movie trailer.
As you can see, folks, I’ve gone back on my word because I’m promoting the 25th Anniversary release of the Paramount’s Titanic starring the fresh-faced Brit Kate Winslet and American Leonardo DiCaprio.
So, you may be asking, Why?
Well, if you’d like an informed answer, I’d refer you to the online article from the Science Museum in London below explaining how Marconi and the wireless telegraph saved 700 lives on that fateful night in April 1912.

Sometimes, folks, we have to take a giant leap of faith in life safe in the knowledge that those “in the know” have our interests as fellow citizens at heart.
