My news in brief: A round-up of last week’s FB commentary

By HILARY GAVIN

IT’S MONDAY morning and I’m posting a very quick round-up of my Facebook commentary and shared news. To be honest, I have to admit that I more or less retreated at home over the past week because I couldn’t seem to shake off a nasty cold.

Saying that, I did venture out to film the latest Sidlesham Parish Council meeting which you can view online here. I should say that I’m due to attend Hunston Parish Council’s meeting tonight but I’m not sure if it’s going ahead because the agenda hadn’t been posted on the council’s official website this morning when I took a look*.

So what’s taken my eye online over the past week? Well, I’m glad to see that BBC Sussex is taking the issue of ketamine abuse among young people seriously so I’ve embedded their report. In addition, I’m intrigued by another report of theirs on a block of flats that Southern Water claim wasn’t plumbed into Worthing’s sewers.

Anyhow, take a look at BBC Sussex because our sewerage system on the Manhood Peninsula is also making waves regionally.

On a personal level, I’ve shared my WordPress blog on the late Frederick Forsyth and the Biafran War of the Sixties and my feature on holidaying in the Rhondda Valleys with my Welsh relatives in the Seventies again for you to read.

I’ve also been sharing my Gardening Updates on Facebook and I’ve commented on the late mathematician and philosopher Bertrand Russell along with Henry VII’s mother Margaret Beaufort.

So, folks, that’s your lot this morning. Catch up later.

*PS: Just to let you know that I’ve visited the HPC website since this morning and the agenda is now there.
