EVENING ALL, unfortunately I couldn’t film tonight’s Hunston Parish Council because there weren’t enough councillors in attendance to form a quorum so the meeting couldn’t go ahead.
The Chair Wendy Gray couldn’t make the meeting along with Cllr Sue Lucas, Cllr Martin Simms and Cllr Becky Davis.WSCC Cllr Sarah Sharp had arrived by the time I got to the Annexe in the village hall, and Cllr Benedict Targett, who was co-opted earlier this year, arrived soon afterwards.
A fellow parish councillor, who looked like Cllr Charlene Simms from her photograph on the Hunston Parish Council website – also turned up along with CDC Cllr David Betts, and a police officer and our PCSO separately. Of course, I wasn’t filming at the time, but a villager popped in, with her dog, to raise a question to the parish councillors so she chatted to the parish clerk Carol Smith about several matters instead.
She was there when the police officer and PCSO arrived out of the blue, so to speak. She spoke to them and it transpired that they were there “to do with the matter of a certain visitor”. Of course I took the opportunity to raise the matter of Sussex Police’s abysmal telecoms system.
It was only when I was outside in the village hall car park that I was made aware that the visitor the PC and the PCSO had alluded to was ME!
Apparenty, it transpired that our local Insp Lyons had sent them along after “several reports” of my anti-social behaviour at parish council meetings. What anti-social behaviour? You can be both the judge and jury if you take a look at the footage of the last two bi-monthly Hunston Parish Council meetings on my WordPress blog.
In May, I spoke about the disintegrating road surface at the Green Lane Stagecoach bus stop, which I also flagged up to our local MP Jess Brown-Fuller I was afraid it was a death-trap but WSCC have since retarmacked it. In June, I asked about stopcock in my unadopted road in Southover Way, because I don’t want harmful effluents getting into our mains water supply.

Anyhow, I’m getting rather tired of feeling harassed for raising valid points. I wasn’t going to speak earlier this evening, but it’s a pity the lady who turned up with her dog didn’t get the chance to raise her concerns with councillors.
I have no idea when our parish councillors will convene for their postponed September meeting, but the clerk Mrs Smith told me she would she will post the notice on the council website.

(NBB I have taken Cllr Becky Davis name from the parish website. I believe the clerk is looking into the matter of three of the parish councillors’ PDF Registrable Interest Form as there appears to be a computer glitch with the pop-up links.
